On April 29, 1981, artist Gina Wendkos staged Four Blondes, at the close of her self-titled installation in the New Museum’s 14th Street window. The performance consisted of four actresses Wendkos hired to enact the the scenes depicted in the paintings for an audience on the street outside the window.
