“There are two thoughts I would like to test with you, and I will try to relate them to the work of three artists. They are: Tuned, Touched, Thys, Taylor, and Trockel. They are related, I think. I want to talk about how objects behave and what objects want. I want to think about what this has to do with beauty, affect, and knowledge. And I would like to thank the letter T.”

Anthony Huberman is a curator and writer based in New York, where he is currently the director of The Artist’s Institute and a distinguished lecturer at Hunter College. Previously, he worked as chief curator of the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, curator of the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, curator of SculptureCenter in New York, and director of education and public programming at MoMA P.S.1. He has published texts in Artforum, Afterall, Dot Dot Dot, Flash Art, Bomb, and Mousse, as well as in many exhibition catalogues.

For this Proposition, Anthony invited Dieter Roelstraete, who was unable to attend. 

“Most people know Dieter Roelstraete as a curator, editor, writer, and as the recently appointed senior curator at the MCA Chicago, a position he’ll be taking up in February 2012. But some people—a certain blind man in particular—know him as Tuesday. So on Saturday, Tuesday responds to Thursday.”
