Akron/Family will be celebrating the release of their album Set ‘Em Wild, Set 'Em Free (out 5/5 on Dead Oceans) with a special preview concert at the New Museum. Set 'Em Wild, Set 'Em Free is their most psychedelic, compelling, and focused work yet.The trio of Seth Olinsky, Miles Seaton, and Dana Janssen are joined by special guests throughout the night. Whether it’s the three members of Akron/Family or upwards of a dozen guest musicians joining them, their live shows are becoming a thing of legend. This is a rare opportunity to see this band in such an intimate space, and it’s definitely one not to be missed!
Akron/Family will be joined by Lexie Mountain Boys, who use their hands, feet and voices to make joyful, vigorous and Armageddon-edged songs that recall everything from church hymnals to jump-rope chants to girl group harmony.
