Movement Research Spring Festival 2009: Opening Night: ROLL CALL
April 23 2009
In celebration of the 30th Anniversary of Movement Research, ROLL CALL presents a documentary film, directed by Kyle Wilamowski, about the brave inception and expansive growth of this vital New York City institution. Interviews with Movement Research pioneers, directors, and artists compose a rich, personalized history of experimental dance and performance in New York City from 1979 to the present. Also on the program, performances created by Movement Research founding artist Mary Overlie and choreographer performer Faye Driscoll.
Also, please join ROLL CALL in the New Museum’s seventh-floor Sky Room, overlooking the Lower East Side, on Sunday, April 26 at 3 p.m., for the first event in a unique walking tour of performances hosted by Lower East Side art galleries, commencing at the New Museum and culminating at Henry Street Settlement’s historic Harry De Jur Playhouse.
