Wynn “Win” Chamberlain (b.1928) early in his career produced highly detailed landscapes and interior scenes, as well as allegories based on the northern Renaissance painting. In the 1960s Chamberlain turned from representational subjects to symbolic abstractions. He also produced, wrote, and directed the 1969 film Brand X, starring Taylor Mead, Candy Darling, Ultra Violet, Abbie Hoffman, and Sam Shepard.
