T.V. Picture was presented as part of the New Museum’s On View program. On display in the Workspace Gallery, this exhibition was devoted exclusively to still photography appropriated from television. John Glascock and Rene Santos created installations consisting of photographs shot from broadcast and cable television, while Formisano set up a mural-size work of images that had been generated by a computer, and photographed off of a video monitor. Her technologically produced color abstractions contrasted with Santos’s color stills and Glascock’s highly stylized and painterly color prints.
